Now in their eighties, the couple share the same studio in Cuernavaca, and exhibit their work in New York, Mexico City, London, and Berlin. The granddaughter of North Carolina slaves, Catlett has been presented the key to the city of New Orleans on the occasion of its bicentennial, and won many other awards. Some of her work is included in the Museum of Art at NC Central.
