TURIX VIDEOREVISTA #5

Description: When someone makes a brief visit in the Yucatan Peninsula, it is called a visit of a “turix.” When one sees a dragonfly, it is considered good luck. The video-magazine Turix is like the dragonfly; it is an open space for creative, audiovisual expression of the indigenous inhabitants of south-southeastern Mexico. This video is divided into eight short sections, each one the work of independent film makers and rural media workshops with children and adolescents of rural communities. They are produced by and for the people of these communities and spoken in the languages of the region.
