Description: Despite America’s 30-year war on drugs, the use of heroin, cocaine, and marijuana remains essentially unchanged. This two-part documentary presents a television history of America’s war on drugs from both sides of the battlefield. The first episode examines the impact of crack cocaine on our city streets and our criminal justice system. The report also investigates Mexico’s role in supplying drugs for American demand. The second episode recounts the origins of the drug campaign, from the Nixon administration’s drug control efforts to the rapid rise and fall of the Colombian drug cartels.
